Spring Beauty Trends to Wear Now
London Fashion Week just came and went, but the trends are all still coming in from Paris and Milan. Here are my top three make up trends for Spring that are totally wearable now!
Clean glowing skin: This is not so much a trend as a way of life for me professionally and personally. I place big emphasis on skincare and always use combinations of cleansers and oils to buff away dead skin cells before nourishing the skin before makeup. I also religiously use a glow or radiance primer before any base make up. I am in love with the Balance Me Beauty BB Cream and I have been going on about it for months. I also love Cosmetics à la Carte Radiance Primer. I do this step EVEN IF I WANT A MATTE LOOK. At many of the shows this season, and with Artists like Alicia Keyes adopting a No Makeup Policy, the bare face is back. With glowing skin, just use concealer to cover up any blemishes or dark circles and off you go!
Smudgy Eyes: Day after the Night before eyes was big this season and I think it looks great with clean skin. Line your eyes with black, grey or navy and then use a Q-Tip with some balm to smudge it out. I love the Dr Hauschka Kajal pencil, it is really soft and you can smudge it really easily. For a more fun look, try Vegan, Nasties free Neve Pastello Pencil in bright colour like blue or purple and smudge it out. Keep skin really clean for this look .
Glitter Everywhere: Glitter was everywhere on the catwalks, from lips to eyes to cuticles. Place it in shapes like at the Giamba show (Check out this awesome post at Fashion Unfiltered) or wear it on your lips using Glitter Lips, or be inspired by this beautiful shoot by my friend Lou Dartford using Biodegradable Glitter from Glitterlution. You can try recreating my Glitter Waterfall eyes by following the directions here, using Kryolan or JT Makeup Studio Glitter If you want your glitter to last all night on your lips, try Glitter Lips by Beauty Boulevard, it really works!
