Although I love many of the looks coming out of NYFW and am looking forward to LFW, I chose these trends because they are either

A) FabulousB) Easy to wear C) Both

My favourite Spring Makeup Trends from New York Fashion Week

1. Soft Rounded Graphic Eyeliner

Having trouble with your Feline Flick? Then you will love the soft graphic eyeliner seen at Jason Wu and Tom Ford.  Makeup artist Yadim described the soft shape as a "reverse Tadpole"

Create this look at home by pressing a flat firm rounded edge brush like the MOTD no Fudge Just Smudge brush into dark eyeshadow. Jason Wu used a deep army green- try Jane Iredale Forest or Lily Lolo Cosmopolitan which is a lovely deep Olive. You could also get a strong look using black like Inika Black Sands Palette or Kjaer Weiss Onyx which is a deep matte black.

Makeup Artist Technique:

Dab off the excess and press the brush firmly on the outer corner of the eye and sweep inwards anduse a tissue under the eye precisely held under the lower lashes to prevent black eyeshadow from falling on your cheek.

2. Glitzy Nails: Neutral Metallics + Glitter cuticles

Rose Gold + Copper Nail Polish: The new nude is a soft metallic in warm neutral tones like soft copper, rose gold and champagne. Try a light rose Gold like Kure Bazaar OR Rose,  or NATorigin Skimia which is little sparkling champagne, and for a more Neutral version, try Zoya Pasha Nail Polish

Alternatively, Long colourful nails at Jeremy Scott were paired with Glitter Cuticles. Try Treat Collection Blushing Blooms with Eco Stardust Glitter

3. Super Glossy Skin

James Kaliardos created a super glossy skin finish at Baja South while Diana Kendal made Eyelids Glossy at Prabal Gurung.  I have created glossy eyes before dabbing a little of the Burts Bees Lip Shine in Spontaneity, but I love the suggestion made by Untainted Magazine: Use the Absolution Cosmetics Le Baume applied with your finger to the eyelid.

For the Cheeks, I would mix a pearlescent shadow with a face gel like the PHB Ethical Aloe and Rose Gel with a pearlescent white shadow like Lily Lolo Angelic, a loose Sparkly white mineral shadow. blend a small amount of the 2 in your palm before patting on the face.

4. Pop of Colour

Makeup artist UZO applied lemon yellow to the eyelids while Fatima Thomas blotched bright orange powder to the inner corners of the eyes at Chromat.

For a glossy lid with colour, layering will be the best way forward. Begin by pressing a matte mineral shadow on the lid first, then apply some sparkle shadow over top and then gloss under the brow bone for a beautifully sculpted 3D effect. You can achieve this with the Lily Lolo Pedal to the Metal shadow palette.

To ahieve the bright pops of colour seen on the inner corners of the eyes at Chromat (pictured above) I love the bold bright colours of Belapierre for this, having used them before for my Bird of Paradise Shoot which called for a similar bold colours effect

Other Pops of colour included Neon Orange eyeliner at Delpozo, an effect easily created using Mineral shadow and a cruelty-free eyeliner mixer like the Setting Gel from Illamasqua

However, everyone is talking about the amazing look Yadim created for Philip Plein,

Shimmery pastel lids were topped with glitter and finished with black liner wings and long lashes. Recreate this look by first layering RMS Beauty Eye Polish in 'Inspire' with Glitterlution or Eco Stardust biodegradable glitter. Then apply Couleur Caramel Organic Liquid eyeliner in Black and finish with RMS Beauty Volumising Mascara. If you want to add some false lashes, you can do so in good conscience with True Glue Adhesive and Lashes, the clean beauty way to fabulous falsies!
