What I am loving Right now

Hello! I know it has been a terribly long time since my last proper post - and I am both sorry and not at the same time. It has been a very busy summer and fall and took a bit of extra time away from writing to spend time with my family.

But I have been testing and trying a host of Green Beauty products for you, so here is a quick round up of the latest products to end up on Tahira’s Tiles.

  1. Ilia Beauty Serum Foundation + Colour Block Lipsticks

The True Skin Foundations from Ilia were released earlier this year with a little fanfare in the Green Beauty World. I had not heard many reviews from professional Makeup Artists, and besides a quick fly-by test on my hand once, had not had a chance to give them a proper test. The main negative comments I had heard were: It contains silicone (I have no problem with this is small doses, especially for products I apply for clients needing long and comfortable wear.) There is also not the widest shade range, which in the post Fenty era is definitely a point taken away. One friend experienced a small reaction, but the product contains Jasmine oil which she says she is sensitive to. But Gorgeous Green Makeup Artist Sjaniel loves them, so my mind was very open

I tried the foundation on myself for several days in a row, to make sure I got no clogged pores and I am so delighted with it. I love the finish and the feel of the foundation and it blends and works well and easily. I used in on its own, and also mixed with the Dr Hauschka Complexion which I love.

I also love the Colour Block Lipsticks which come in an array of colours from Newutrals to brights. The pigment is definitely stronger and though the formula is a bit more matte the finish on the lips is a bit Satin and is comfortable to wear, with no feel of drying. That said, the lipstick does “set” a little but fo rme that is fine, as it proved to be rather long lasting through food and drinks.

2. Balance Me Vitamin C Serum + DR Hauschka Complexion + Evolve 360 Peptide

I have been a fan of Balance me Beauty for years! you will have heard me Bang on about their BB cream OVER AND OVER again. But I sincerely love that product (though they definetly need to make darker shades!!! - are you listening Balance Me Beauty?) but they recently launched a Vitamin C serum that I really like! the texture is light, the scent is fresh and its packed with ingredients to stimulate and support cell renewal. I have been using it twice a day and my skin is loving it!

The Dr Hauschka Regeneration Day Cream Complexion Holds a special Place in my heart . Firstly, because I genuinely love the product, and secondly, because we did some fabulous videos together that you can see on the @drhauschkagb instagram Grid + IGTV. This product can be used on its own or under makeup as a radiance primer. you can also mix it with a foundation for a boost of radiance and to thin out the coverage.

The Evolve Beauty 360 Peptide Cream is the latest release from one of my fave affordable organic beauty brands. I am not generally a fan of cream, preferring Face Oils in general. I like the texture and quick absorption of this moisturiser, packed with ingredients that claim to boost hydration and reduce fine lines. I really like it, but only time will tell if it does indeed provide long term results.

3. Lily Lolo Stellar Eye Palette + Dr Hauschka Deep Infinity Palette

Both these Eyeshadow palettes are extremely user- friendly. I like Lily Lolo Eye palettes because they re compact, affordable and very bendable and easy to use. although not the most pigmented colours fro my pro use, they are really mistake proof for everyday and their palettes offer a lot of versatility for day to night looks that can easily be achieved by anyone, without any major disasters.

The Deep Infinity collection by DR Hauschka is a lovely Limited edition collection and this palette is fabulous for creating a wonderful smokey eye. I will say that the colours do not last a whole day and night, I would say about 4-5 hours at the most. I used the palette on several occasions to wear darker and lighter smokey eye looks on myself, and got a good evening’s worth of wear. The lightest and darker shades are my fave - a pink with a soft shimmer of gold, and a deep charcoal with flecks of peacock blue running through.

4. Tata Harper Lip/Cheek Tins + Dr Lipp Tints

I love me a cream blush! first, I think it gives a bit of colour from within, and secondly, layering a cream colour and a powder blush on top helps create a lasting look - especially when working with more natural products that don’t have extra ingredients to help them last long.

The Tata Harper colours a re super pigmented and have a lot of impact. the Very Naughty (red) colour is particularly potent., and looks gorgeous applied to the lips with your fingers for a slightly smudged/kissed look - There are a few more tones as well to check out.

Dr Lipp Has launched its first new product in ages - they combined edible pigments from Radish, Elderberry and Sweet potato to create tinted lanolin lip balms. The only come in small sizes for now, but the sheer was of colour is a lovely alternative to a natural lip, providing a small about of colour and a bit of moisture as well.
