Tahira's Tiles: My Favourite Green Beauty Products this October

Looking for something new? I've been trying and testing some fun products these last few weeks, so why don't I just jump in and tell you what I think.

Tabitha James Kraan Organic Haircare

Tabitha James Kraan is going to change the way you think about caring for your hair.  Tabitha herself is passionate about Haircare that both makes sense for the planet, and the wide variety of people who use them. Her energy is infectious and her dedication to excellence in organic hairdressing unparalleled.

Made with organic oils, all the products are intended to return balance to the hair and scalp by restoring the natural oils, without stripping, so the centre of the range is a cleanser, not a shampoo

This Cleanser will feel very weird when you first use it, it does not lather - AT ALL. But stay with the system and Tabitha promises a change in the way your hair feels and responds, bringing natural smoothness and shine back to each hair strand.

I have used the 4 in 1 Conditionner as a styling product to, but I am giving it a go as a conditioner. My hair feels and looks smoother and less flyaway than usual. I love the scent of the products, especially the hair oil which can be used as a treatment (like a hair mask) or as a serum. I have used the oil on dry hair, but it works better for me applied to towel dried hair. Watch this brand, I fear it may be my new obsession.

PROS: Certified Organic Hair Care, Multi use products mean fewer bottles do more things.

CONS: It will take time for your hair to adjust, which may mean you feel like your hair is heavy or unclean, but that is not the case.

Lily Lolo Sweet Nothings Eyeshadow Palette

This is not actually fair because I only got the Lily Lolo Sweet Nothings  Palette on the weekend and have not properly tested it, but I was so excited I had include this palette in this post.

Lily Lolo is one of my favourite brands for eye makeup, because the colours are so easy to use and blend. I prefer their pressed shadows to their loose ones, and so I was delighted to receive this collection.

The colours are combination of cool/neutral/plum tones that can be used lightly for a day look and intensified with the charcoal colour for an evening look. My favourite combo is 3 from the right: Florentine, Sugared Almond + Truffle

PROS: Convenient, inexpensive Easy to use

CONS: The pressed show palettes have limited colour range, Other colours are only found in loose form (which I am not a huge fan of for practicality purposes)

Romilly Wilde Skincare

Romilly Wilde was created by founder Susie after years of research and a career in Wellness. This Luxurious skincare line is said to be made of " "Non-Toxic, Natural, Vibrant skincare. {...} ‘conscious ingredients’ within each formula"  The products are infused with what Susie calls Metabolic ingredients, in other words, ingredients that actually do something to nourish, renew and restore the skin. I really love the ethos and the story of this luxury brand.

I absolutely love the cleanser, the textures is rich and lovely, but you need nowhere near the recommended 6 pumps. The ingredients are clean and natural, though not organic.

The serum absorbs quickly and leaves the skin feeling dewy, and  oily skin types may be able to use it alone. The face oil feels very light despite being rich and nourishing, it does take some time to absorb, and I would say is definitely more suited to dryer skin. It leaves a dewy finish under makeup

I used the cleanser and serum to prep Jodie Whittaker's skin for the Red Carpet and it was glorious.

PROS: Despite a short amount of testing, I feel this product really works and is worth the (slightly hefty) price tag.

CONS: The scent of all the products I tried is VERY floral and will not be enjoyed everyone.

Benecos natural eyeshadows

BENECOS eyeshadows are natural compact eyeshadows available in a range of colours as singles and also come in quads.  Benecos is a German Natural Beauty brand available in many health food stores and online.  Its Low price point makes it accessible to anyone, and is a perfect introduction to green beauty, especially for younger women or if you are not looking to make a big investment

These Certified Natural (BDIH - Germany) Vegan Eyeshadows are a perfect small item to add to your makeup bag. whether you are looking for a particular colour to match an outfit or are looking to replace a few items in your makeup bag.

Pros: The colour payoff is good and the shimmer shades I tried (Forget me not Blue and Amethyst Lavender) are not overly shiny. You can layer the colour easily for more impact and the textures are smooth and silky

Cons: The shadows do have Talc as a first ingredient which I am not a fan of because it is not great for health.  The lasting power is not amazing but it good for a day, but not necessarily a long night of dancing.
