Base Basics: How to Apply a Natural Foundation

I often get asked how I achieve a natural soft glow skin for my clients skin. My signature style is a lit from within, natural skin finish… Elevated Natural I like to call it.

I follow a routine for myself and my clients: I always start with a radiant primer or illuminating base of some kind, followed by foundation or tinted moisturiser, I then perfect my complexion with concealer + corrector before finishing with powder.

I tend to apply the bulk of the product to the middle of my face and blend outwards. This means that where I have the most pigmentation gets covered but the edges of my face only have a veil of makeup.

Once I have my foundation I tend to go in then and correct under my eyes which have very bad dark circles. I first add a corrector to neutralize the deep purple brown under my eyes, and then match a concealer to my skin-tone. I sometimes also add a brightener to the tops of my cheeks to sculpt and lift my face. For this I tend If I have any blemishes, I use concealer to blend them out. I always et my under eyes with a puff and powder to fix the product. For the rest of my face I pat on powder if I need to make the makeup last.

I will upload some concealer technique videos soon!
