Conscious Beauty for Beginners

Start your Conscious Beauty skincare swaps with these products

I am often asked where to start when making the switch to conscious beauty, or how to add a bit more Natural, organic but high-performing skincare to your current routine after 40.

So I thought I would put together a little guide to help you out. This guide is for anyone looking to replace their skincare routine bit by bit with some of my recommendations - for this edit, I have selected a more budget-conscious list.

Pick n Mix

My advice is to replace items as you run out - so you can pick and mix from the list below. Its easy to make the swaps - Choose a cleanser, a serum, face oil, and a mask (to use 2 or 3 times a week) to get your routine started. (one from each of these categories)

I love the cleansers below because they quickly and easily remove all makeup including most eye makeup. If you are looking for other types of cleansers, you can see my post here all about organic, natural, and conscious beauty cleansers by type.

I have chosen some very gentle but effective HA serums because dehydration/ replenishing moisture seems to be the most common issue that people in our age group are trying to rectify - but I also advise adding a Vitamin C serum - but I wanted to keep this edit very simple. If you need a Vitamin C Serum, check out this collection here. I am a big fan of the gentle Balance Me Beauty Vitamin C Serum, but the Kora Organics one is lovely as well.

I am personally a face oil not a moisturizer person. If you prefer the texture of a cream, then have a look at this list, but personally, I prefer oil. If you would like more Face Oil Choices - this is the post you are after.

If your skincare routine is already more advanced, please feel free to email me with questions or for an online skin consultation. Happy Swapping!
